How to Use Red, White & Blue in your Home

Using red, white and blue in a room can be tricky.  It’s all about balance.  With this room, just a few pops of red was all that was needed to create that wow factor. The important key to all good design is the repetition of certain elements set evenly throughout the space. It’s also about using the right blues, reds and whites. Mix some navy with cobalt and wine with cherry red. The more crisp and clean, the happier. Pepper in some light gray and you’ve got a cheerful yet sophisticated space.

Of course using it in a kids’ space is pretty elementary… so you think! This is a playroom I did with a nautical theme. I didn’t want to use too much red because it would overpower the space. Touches here and there are subtle but existent. I went a little nautical… nothing wrong with that. This home is on the water and these homeowners are boat owners.
