Behind the scenes at @perigold West Palm Beach ✨

Krista spent the afternoon walking the floor with the Perigold team, talking through the ideas behind every home she designs. A room can feel elevated and still be easy to live in. Some of the best decisions are about what you leave out. And luxury today? It’s personal.

What would you ask Krista about designing your home?

AI, Pinterest, and the future of luxury design… let's talk about it.

We're thrilled to see Krista featured in @mansionglobal, sharing her perspective on what truly makes a home luxurious, how technology is shaping the design industry, and why the most beautiful spaces will always be deeply personal.

From designing wellness-focused homes for professional athletes to embracing AI as a creative tool, Krista shares the philosophy behind K+H: thoughtful design, exceptional craftsmanship, and spaces that tell your story.

And her definition of luxury? It should make you feel at home, with a little something unexpected.

How do you modern? Carefully…

Some collect Gucci, Saint Laurent, Chanel. This client collects modern masterpieces.

For a serious art collector with a well-traveled eye, we wanted a quietly confident palette that would give his extraordinary collection room to shine.

Building this house from the ground up was personal for our client. It meant taking a modern Manhattan style and translating it to our Florida landscape.

Even the black wall-hung toilet is artful! Don’t you think?

The water was already doing its thing. Our job? Make sure the house kept up.

How do you make a 9,000-square-foot, $10M house feel like a home? We opened walls, chased the views, and brought in warm woods, adding to the original West Indies charm.

Our clients wanted cocktails off the boat, poolside, flip-flops… now it’s a place they never want to leave. And the original architecture sings.

Seeing it in @archdigest? That’s the cherry on top.

It’s giving summer house…

Our clients from New York tasked us with creating vacation-house vibes here. Bamboo, rattan, and wrapped-rope details all come together to create what feels like a luxury retreat on the water — feet up, Bellinis poolside.

This was a personal journey for our clients to find a soft place to land.

The Currey & Co. lighting sets the tone in more ways than one. Our favorites are the pendants over the island… would you put those in your house?

The secret behind my favorite art piece from Londo

The secret behind my favorite art piece from London in #ProjectGalleryHouse

Mattia Bonetti’s iconic “Yo-Yo” coffee table was inspired by a childhood toy and transformed into a functional piece of furniture. Playful, surreal, and impossibly chic.

Our client is a serious collector, and we love that this full-scale renovation became a gallery space for their incredible collection. It was no easy task bringing the comforting, beachy feeling this couple wanted into a super-modern backdrop. And with the Miami Beach skyline outside, even the view becomes part of the art.

It’s personal.

Which piece would you spend $100K on?

A home should feel connected to where it lives.

At Ocean Drive, soft blues, natural textures and moments of pattern carry an easy coastal sensibility from one space to the next—while the relationship between indoors and out keeps the surrounding landscape part of the story.

From the rooms we gather in to the quieter, everyday spaces, each detail contributes to a home that feels considered without feeling overly designed.

A sense of place that feels timeless, personal and completely natural to the people who call it home.

Collected, not decorated.

A home becomes infinitely more interesting when every piece doesn’t feel like it arrived at the same time. Art, objects, furnishings, texture and materiality come together slowly, creating layers that feel personal rather than prescribed.

The beauty is in allowing those different stories to coexist.
The result? A home that feels evolved, soulful and unmistakably its own. Photos by @venjhaminreyes styling by @peggy_chase_jordao

What does it mean to make luxury feel personal?

For @krista.alterman, it’s creating spaces that are elevated, effortless and livable — homes that tell a story, reflect the people who live there and, above all, feel like their own.

Krista recently sat down with @alexahamptoninc to share a little more about the philosophy behind Krista + Home, the lessons that have shaped her career and what she hopes her work will always be known for.

The most compelling luxury is often the kind you don’t immediately notice.

It’s felt in the materials. The craftsmanship. The way a room flows. The softness of a textile against a harder architectural element. The details that reveal themselves the longer you live with them.
Nothing needs to announce itself.

Because true luxury isn’t about adding more—it’s about making every choice matter. Photos by @venjhaminreyes styling by @peggy_chase_jordao

On our way to Miami to celebrate the 2026 Dynamic Women issue, we caught up with @krista.alterman for a little rapid fire on success, sacrifice, celebrating the wins—and the advice she wishes someone had given her when she was building Krista + Home.

Her biggest reminder? Don’t get so lost in the day-to-day that you forget to celebrate how far you’ve come. 🍾

A place where the pace slows and everyday rituals become something a little more considered. Pattern, natural materials, sculptural forms and thoughtful details transform these spaces from purely functional into something restorative.

For @krista.alterman, design has always been about more than creating something beautiful. It’s about creating a feeling.

Her earliest understanding of what a home could be began as a child. On Grandma's Silver Podcast, she recalls how summer visits to her aunt’s beautifully designed Connecticut home showed her how deeply our surroundings can shape the way we feel.

That feeling became the foundation for a career: creating homes that offer beauty, comfort and a sense of respite from the world outside.

A beautiful place to land at the end of the day. 🤍

Coastal, without the cliché.

Rather than relying on an obvious coastal vocabulary, we let materiality, light and a connection to the surroundings do the talking.

Natural textures, sculptural forms and thoughtful details create a home that feels relaxed enough for life by the water, while still maintaining a sense of quiet sophistication.

A softer, more understated expression of coastal living.

The room you begin and end every day in should feel like a retreat.

Moody and enveloping or light and serene, each primary bedroom takes a different approach to that feeling. Layers of texture, thoughtful lighting, soft textiles and collected details create spaces that feel intimate, personal and removed from the world outside.

Different points of view, with the same intention: a beautiful place to land at the end of the day.

Which one feels most like you?

The best spaces strike a balance.

Refined but relaxed. Elevated but livable. Beautiful enough to catch your eye, comfortable enough to make you want to stay.

It’s a balance we return to again and again—layering thoughtful materials, texture, art and architectural details to create a home that feels considered without ever feeling overly designed.

Because ultimately, how a home feels matters just as much as how it looks.

Proof that the best seat in the house might be at the bar.

Moody and dramatic, bright and understated, or designed to blur the line between indoors and out—a home bar is an opportunity to have a little fun.

Stone, rich millwork, unexpected finishes and thoughtful details give each its own point of view, while creating a space designed around one thing: gathering.

Because the spaces made for entertaining should feel just as considered as the rest of the home.

Passion gets you started. Obsession keeps you going.

On @Entreprenistas podcast, @krista.alterman shared one of her biggest pieces of advice for the next generation of designers and entrepreneurs: if you want to build something of your own, passion alone isn’t enough. You have to be all in.

After years of building a design business, mentoring emerging designers, and continuing to evolve her own point of view, the lesson is simple: stay curious, stay committed to the craft, and never stop learning.

For the aspiring designers here—what do you want to know about building a career in design?

A staircase is never just a way to get from one floor to the next.

It’s an architectural moment—an opportunity to play with scale, material, movement, form and perspective. From sculptural curves and floating treads to statement railings and quieter architectural details, each becomes part of the rhythm of the home.
