May Recap — The Month at Krista + Home

May was a month that reminded us why we do what we do.

Modern Luxury Interiors panel at DCOTA

We had the incredible opportunity to be part of a Modern Luxury Interiors panel at the Baker showroom at DCOTA, centered around Holiday House Wellington. It was one of those conversations that brings everything full circle. Surrounded by a group of talented designers, the discussion explored the inspiration, process, and intention behind each space. While every perspective was unique, the shared passion for thoughtful, elevated design was unmistakable. It’s moments like these that continue to push our industry forward and reaffirm the power of collaboration.

This month also gave us space to reflect on the journey behind Krista + Home in a more personal way. Krista Alterman was featured on the Entreprenista podcast, where she shared the story behind the brand’s evolution. What began as one woman’s commitment to mastering her craft has grown into something far greater. She didn’t set out to build a business. She set out to become exceptional at what she does. Through years of discipline, consistency, and creative vision, that pursuit evolved into a nationally recognized brand, a highly valued design firm, and a story that continues to resonate far beyond the design world.

We were also honored to see that perspective recognized on a broader stage. In a recent feature by The Spruce, Krista contributed expert insight on designing a timeless kitchen, emphasizing the balance between statement elements and subtle functionality. From lighting that acts as the jewelry of a space to hidden storage that allows a home to feel effortless, these details speak to a larger philosophy: great design is not only seen, but felt. It’s an approach rooted in longevity, one that prioritizes how people truly live in their homes.

And as if that wasn’t enough, we were incredibly grateful to be nominated for Jupiter Magazine’s Best of. Recognition like this is never taken lightly. It reflects not only the work we do, but the community that continues to support and grow with us.

From meaningful industry conversations to national features and milestone recognitions, May captured both where we’ve been and where we’re headed. And if this month is any indication, we’re just getting started.
